The wedding of Ilke and Edwin took place in Cork with the ceremony at the church and then the reception afterwards in the beautiful Blackwater Castle. From the moment the beautiful bride arrived with her father and her bridesmaid, I knew that the day would be one of smiles and joy. Wearing her stunning white gown with veil, Ilke was accompanied by her bridesmaid, wearing a vivid purple ball gown – the theme for the day was white and purple and this could be seen in the delicate arrangements on each pew of the church.
After the ceremony, we travelled to the medieval castle for the reception. Here was a great chance to catch a few shots of the bride and groom with their friends and family, relaxed now that the ceremony was complete and able to greet those they love. The main staircase was a perfect place to catch a few pictures of the bride, allowing the full beauty of her dress and veil to show. The antique paintings and mirrors also made effective backdrops to the pictures of the happy couple. The grounds of the castle also offered me the chance to take a few pictures of the couple on their own, their love for each other clear to see on their beaming faces.
